ONE DAY...

09/05/12

View of the Bay of Islands

After 2 months In New Zealand, I'm in Opua, a small village in the Bay of Islands, in the North Island.
Today is 8 may, I woke up at 6 30 am as always, I took an orange juice and chocolate cookies for breakfast which Ashley did. Then I pack my things for the day in my bag and a took my lunch already made from the fridge and we went to the beach to surf for almost 2 hours, the waves were excellent and the water was a little bit hot, it was an incredible day for surfing.

The boutique where I work

After that, each went to their work. I went to the bikini boutique at 10.30 am to work, I sale 3 bikinis, but about 15 persons went to the shop. It was a moved day, I had a break time at 1 pm to lunch, and I ate a tuna sandwich, my favorite food!
During my work day, I order the new merchandise, I pass in clean the accounts, I refresh the website store and I attended clients as always. I finished work about 3.30 pm because it was Friday and I work less time.

Beach in Bay of Islands
I meet my friends at the city center to drink some smoothies, while we were walking to the beach. When we arrived to the beach, we went immediately to take some waves, there were incredible, a dream day for all the surfers. Also we had played volleyball in the beach and we had spent lot of time just chatting, most interesting subjects and things to talk.

About 6.30 pm we had returned to our home to take a shower, dressing up and make up for a special meeting with international travelers who were there and then we went to a party in the famous bar “best way to live” in the center.

Afghan Biscuit, delicous!
At 8 pm we were in the “Soul Surf” restaurant, waiting for the others. When they had arrived we ask for the meals, I ate fish and chips and for dessert an especially typical biscuit of  New Zealand, an Afghan biscuit made from cocoa powder, butter, flour and cornflakes, topped with chocolate icing and a walnut.
Finished the dinner, we went to the bar, there we drank some drinks and we danced. We had had a great time! We really have enjoyed the night.

The people I has meet this night are really friendly, there are from different cultures so it’s an excellent experience for make friends from all over the world and exchange cultural things.
This day was which I have more enjoy since I am in New Zealand. Everything was perfect!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION

Picture take from the plane, when we were arriving to Auckland
05/03/12

Another photo
Arrived at Auckland 2 days ago, it is a beautiful city, with the incredible Pacific Ocean-coast. I can’t wait to go surfing in the north. The first day arrives, I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel whereI left the bags and went to a meeting with the travel company to arrange whereI would work, where I would live and other things. After that, I went for a walk through town and I drank a smoothie over there. At the hotel I met two European girls, and an American boy, we had dinner together at a bar on the corner of the hotel. They are very nice and fun, and we are all adventurers and we have similar tastes. I think that this will facilitate the coexistence. One of the girls is a little  bit shy but we knew her enough to be the beginning.
The next day we went out together, to book tickets for Whananaki where we decided to go surfing for a while, and buy some necessary things for the trip. We ate near the harbor and later had a meeting with a company working with the people we contact before and would help us get living accommodations.
Photo of Auckland, which I took yesterday!
The third day we set up our bags and finally we left for the north. It was a long journey by bus, arriving almost at sunset which was incredible seen from the beach. Our little house is next to the beach, and here we are, living together as a family.  It is not big but enough for us, there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette and livingroom connected. We also have a small garden at the back overlooking the beach. Yet I doesn’t finish to order my room but I has a bed, a desk with a computer,a closet for my clothes and I started topaste all the photos of my home, my friends and my family on a wall, this being very pretty. Now I’m writing in my new room, I’m tired but very happy about living this experience and to be with these incredible people I met. We hope that tomorrow will be good weather to go earlyto surf and then start working.
The temperature is warm and there aren’t any rains yet, so hopefully it will continue like that.
It was a long trip by bus
This is my new home in Wananaki!
